Katogi Averoff White and Rosé wines launch with a fresh look
A new era begins for the Averoff winery in Metsovo as two of its most popular and beloved wines, Katogi Averoff White and Katogi Averoff Rosé, are released with a refreshed appearance. At the same time, they feature slightly updated varietal compositions and winemaking processes, enhancing their quality characteristics.
Katogi Averoff White is now a blend of Chardonnay, Malvasia, and Muscat varieties. Its exact composition is 50% Chardonnay, 30% Malvasia, and 20% Muscat, with the Chardonnay undergoing alcoholic fermentation in oak barrels. Thanks to the change in grape varieties and the barrel fermentation of the Chardonnay, the wine boasts a rich aromatic character that captivates from the very first moment while enhancing its pleasant and highly enjoyable taste. This is a wine that embodies its journey through time, offering a robust flavor with unmistakable quality.
Katogi Averoff Rosé, a semi-dry Xinomavro, maintains its expressive nature and its ability to pair with a wide range of dishes. The wine's distinctive aromatic profile is dominated by strawberry and cherry notes, while its taste remains delightful, striking a balance between the acidity of Xinomavro and the slightly sweet elements imparted by its semi-dry winemaking process.
The Averoff Winery-Distillery in Metsovo focuses on Northern Greece, cultivating and utilizing vineyards in Metsovo, the broader region of Ioannina, as well as in the significant wine-producing zones of Naoussa, Amyntaio, and Goumenissa. It produces wines and spirits with meticulous care, ensuring the expressiveness of their aromas and their enjoyable taste through high-quality raw materials—qualities that make them beloved by all. These are wines intertwined with both everyday and significant moments of life.
